Four steps to getting a visa

1: Find out what you need

Enter the name of the country you plan to visit in the text box above and press enter. You will be taken to the page that provides detailed information about that country's visa requirements and application process.

Besides a valid passport, you may need additional documentation, for example booking confirmation, a letter of invitation or proof of vaccination. 

2: Complete an application form

In most cases, you will be able to download an applcation form as a PDF document. Fill in the form completely and in block letters. If you prefer to complete the form online, go to visumonline.nl.

Note that in some cases you will be required to complete an original application form; if so, you can request it by phone or in writing.

You can apply for more than one visa at a time. Once we have received all the necessary documents, we will apply for your visas individually.

You should also complete our visa application guidance form, indicating your departure date and the date when your passport must be in your possession again. You need to submit only one of these forms no matter how many visas you are applying for.

3: Submit the application form

You can send your application to us by registered mail, have it delivered to us by courier, or bring it to our office in Amsterdam or The Hague (see 'Contact' for opening times). If you post your application to us, we will email you as soon as it arrives.

We can arrange for applications to be picked up from businesses that are located in or close to Amsterdam. 

4: Wait for the embassy/consulate to process your application

We will apply for your visa as soon as we receive your application form and the necessary documents. Visumburo employees personally deliver all applications to the relevant embassies or consulates; we do not contract out delivery to third parties.

You can use our track & trace system to check on the status of your application.

As soon as we have picked up your passport and other documentation from the embassy or consulate, we will return them to you in the manner you indicated on the application guidance form.
